Candid Gallery - 1-3 March 2013

What a weekend!!! Travelled to London in the wee small hours of Friday morning. Arrived at gallery to set up paintings just after 9am. Display finished by lunchtime. We then went to a nearby restaurant for lunch, where I was recognised as the lead singer and sax player in a Rock Band I used to be part of - What are the odds of that??? I felt like a Rock Star!!! Opening night was 6-9 Friday night, buyers, collectors, and press! I was terrified, but after initial nerves I had a fantastic time! Thanks to Danny and Steve for helping to make the evening such a great event. My work was fantastically well received. Then all day Saturday and Sunday exhibiting - again truly fantastic response from visitors. I got called 'The Artist who does Everything' due to the huge variety of style and subject matter of my work. And people got quite emotional and passionate about my paintings when speaking to me. Managed to squeeze in an evening trip to Ain't Nothing but the Blues Club in Soho - Awsome music. Two paintings sold and a commission as a direct result of the exhibition, with further commissions enquiries since I got back to Devon. And I have been invited to exhibit at the Brick Lane Gallery and also Bankside Gallery both in London, later this year!!!! Suddenly my artistic dream is on a roller coaster towards the future - so exciting!!! Watch this space. Huge thanks to Oliver and his family for all their support and organisation of the Candid Gallery exhibition.
